The Municipal Court is located on the second floor of the St. John Municipal Center, 8944 St. Charles Rock Road. Court is held twice a month on pre-set dates established by the court’s own Judge Timothy Kelly. The City of St. John not only administers the St. John Court but the Sycamore Hills Court as well.

Various fines may be paid out of court. Payment for fines must be made by cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), money order, cashier’s check or personal check. Any check written must meet the following guidelines:

- No starter checks will be accepted
- Name & address MUST be printed on check
- Only checks on a defendant’s account will be accepted AND
   the check MUST be signed by the defendant
- No check other than the defendant’s check will be accepted
- No business checks will be accepted
- All checks must be made payable to the St. John Municipal
   Court
- Final acceptance of checks is subject to the approval of
   the Court Administrator

Not ALL tickets/fines are payable out of court. Many require a court appearance. In order to be sure if a ticket is payable out of court, call the Municipal Court and check.

Violation Bureau Schedule of Offenses Pursuant to the
MO State Statutes, Section 4790.50 Revised and Rule 37.49 of the Supreme court rules of the State of Missouri, undersigned Municipal Judge of the City of St. John hereby orders that the following designated offenses shall be payable to the City of St. John Traffic Violations Bureau. No court appearance is necessary unless specifically excepted as hereafter set forth.

Any ticket involved in an accident requires a court appearance.

Any point violation ticket requires a court appearance IF:
- Operator is 18 years of age or younger (a parent or legal
   guardian must accompany operator in court); OR
- Operator has received any points against their license in
   the last two years.
