The City of St. John is centrally located, providing easy access to neighboring counties from the North, South, East, and West. The City is located two miles south of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and is near Interstates 70, 270, 170 and 64/40. Interstate 170 intercepts St. Charles Rock Road, the primary thoroughfare of the City and provides direct access to Clayton, Downtown St. Louis, Forest Park, A.G. Edwards Dome, Savvis Center, and UMB Pavilion in only a matter of minutes. The City of St. John is a middle class suburb of approximately 6,871 people primarily composed of single family dwellings, covers nearly 2.2 square miles, with a 2 ½ mile commercial strip along St. Charles Rock Road. The commercial district of the City consists of approximately 100+ businesses and reflects the tie to St. Charles Rock Road with a majority of the City’s commercial activity being located along this route (State Route 180). Much of this development is in the form of strip type locations with small retail and service type establishments comprising the majority of commercial land uses along St. Charles Rock Road. In addition, a large 43 acre Industrial Development is located at the northeast corner of St. Charles Rock Road and I-170 Industrial Business Park. This Development currently claims home to 9 businesses sitting on 2 acre to 8+ acre tracts of land. |
