The St. John Senior Club
is on the go and gathering speed...

The City started a Senior Citizen Activity program in 2001 in order to offer a variety of activities and services to both residents and non-residents alike. Although it got off to a rather slow start, it is now moving forward full force. The City employs a part-time coordinator who schedules monthly luncheons - complete with entertainment, various monthly trips, bi-monthly movies, weekly aerobics and T'ai Chi classes.

The Senior Program is the perfect way to get active, get involved and meet other seniors in your neighborhood. It is a great way to pass time with your old friends or meet new ones.

One of the first priorities when starting the program was to create a monthly newsletter called "Senior News". Approximately 325 newsletters are now distributed each month.

Previous trips/events include:
  • President Casino
  • Meskwaki Bingo and Casino
  • Our Lady of the Snows
  • Bingo in Swansea, IL
  • Aztar Casino
  • Fairmount Park
  • Grampa Woo
  • Clabber Girl
For information on upcoming trips, contact our Senior Coordinator or go to the Calendar Section of our web site.
