For your convenience, the following is the schedule for the Holidays observed by Allied Waste:

New Year’s Day - Friday, January 1, 2010
Monday routes will not be affected.
Tuesday routes will not be affected.
Wednesday routes will not be affected.
Thursday routes will not be affected.
Friday routes will be picked up Saturday, January 2nd

Memorial Day – Monday, May 31, 2010
Monday routes will be picked up Tuesday, June 1st
Tuesday routes will be picked up Wednesday, June 2nd
Wednesday routes will be picked up Thursday, June 3rd
Thursday routes will be picked up Friday, June 4th
Friday routes will be picked up Saturday, June 5th

Fourth of July – Sunday, July 4, 2010
Routes Not Affected

Labor Day – Monday, September 6, 2010
Monday routes will be picked up Tuesday, September 7th
Tuesday routes will be picked up Wednesday, September 8th
Wednesday routes will be picked up Thursday, September 9th
Thursday routes will be picked up Friday, September 10th
Friday routes will be picked up Saturday, September 11th

Thanksgiving – Thursday, November 25, 2010

The 2010 Rates For St. John Residents Are As Follows:

2010
Regular Rate - $ 18.66/month
Senior Rate - $ 16.79/month

$ 3.50/month - 90 Gallon Mobile Cart Rental

65 gallon recycling toters were provided to each residence in 2008. These toters were purchased with grant money and stay with the residence should the resident(s) move.

* Allied's contract was extended four (4) years with an additional three (3)year option after that in order to allow for a semi-automated pickup system. Unfortunately the new trucks didn't arrive as expected and are still on back-order. The last anticipated delivery date relayed to St. John was the middle of September.

The rates for the upcoming years are as follows:

2011
Regular Rate - $ 19.13/month
Senior Rate   - $ 17.21/month

2012
Regular Rate - $ 19.70/month
Senior Rate   - $ 17.73/month

2013
Regular Rate - $ 20.49/month
Senior Rate   - $ 18.44/month

2014
Regular Rate - $ 21.31/month
Senior Rate   - $ 19.18/month

2015
Regular Rate - $ 22.16/month
Senior Rate   - $ 19.95/month

As you can see, the rates only go up 2.5%/month in years 2010 & 2011; 3%/month in 2012; and 4%/month in 2013, 2014 & 2015.
