She and her husband Gus purchased a home on Ginger Drive in 1972 where they still reside today. Family Information:  Their family consists of a daughter and son-in-law, Christina & Noe Huerta who live in Overland; a daughter Tori Degardin and her children, Kelsey (born in Dec. 1996) and Kaitlynn (born in March 2001). Tori graduated from Ritenour High School in 1992 and Christi in 1995. Educational Background:  Penny attended Home Heights Grade School, Ritenour Jr. High & Ritenour High School, graduating 1969. Employment:  Penny has been employed by Stewart, Schaberg and Turner Architects as a secretary-receptionist since 1985. Public Service Information: Various PTA & School activities for Marvin School & Ritenour H.S. St. John Park Board Member Youth-In-Need: Working with teenage girls living in a group home; spending time with them cooking, doing crafts & just listening to them talk about their everyday problems & activities. SART, Sexual Assault Response Team: Being on-call and responding to the hospital to counsel women who have been the victim of rape. SUCCESS Basketball: She is one of the founders & directors of the program which ran from 1995- 2000. This was a low-cost evening baseketball program for area youth run entirely by volunteers.
