2020 CENSUS DEADLINE SHORTENED BY 30 DAYS . . . .
The Trump Administration has shortened the time period for a Census count to take place by 30 days. Therefore, the 2020 Census count will end as of September 30, 2020.
As you may or may not know, census funding is determined by population count; and that population count will be key as to where federal dollars will be allocated. Covid-19 has greatly hampered the person-to-person contact efforts. Because of this it makes it all the more urgent to get the word out about the new Census deadline.
The Census is confidential, and will not ask about employment, banking, citizenship status or any past or present law enforcement related questions. Almost every area of our daily lives are touched by the Census. Education, housing, food, healthcare, foster care, as well as infrastructure are just a few to be named.
Please help with the “final push” the rest of this month to get our response levels up. Time is running out! Everyone who lived in the United States on April 1, 2020, is required to be counted – whether they’re a U.S. citizen or not.
Please help us get the word out to all your neighbors, friends and relatives. With your help, we can make the 2020 Census count for St. John!
