Posted on: July 10, 2021[ARCHIVED] Strong Winds Hit St. John

Friday night strong winds went through St. John causing numerous downed trees and power lines. Many roads are still closed this morning and utility crews are still in the area making repairs. Please be cautious if traveling and be aware that utility crews may have other streets blocked while they make repairs to downed cables. The City's Public Works Department is currently out and cleaning up debris.
Thank you for your patience during this situation.
UPDATED 7-14-21:
The City's limb chipper started running July 12th. You can start putting your storm damaged limbs (3" diameter or less) out at the curb, cut ends facing the street. Please do not place the limbs where they would be protruding into the street or covering the sidewalk. The chipper will start at the city limits on the east side of town and will work westward. Keep in mind that the chipper will not run during periods of rain. Please have the last of your storm damaged tree limbs out at the street no later than 7 am on Monday morning, July 19th. Please check back on this site for any additional updates.
