Friday night strong winds went through St. John causing numerous downed trees and power lines. Many roads are still closed this morning and utility crews are still in the area making repairs. Please be cautious if traveling and be aware that utility crews may have other streets blocked while they make repairs to downed cables. The City's Public Works Department is currently out and cleaning up debris.
Thank you for your patience during this situation.
UPDATED 7-19-21:
The limb chipper is not available at this time. Therefore the limbs will be picked up with the City's front end loader using the clam bucket. This will also allow you to put out larger pieces of storm damaged branches/logs than the regular 3" in diameter . However, all items must be 4' in length or less so that they can fit into the bucket. Any items that don't fit into the bucket will not be picked up. All limbs/logs need to be out at the curb no later than 7:00 am this Thursday, July 22nd. After that the City will make one more pass through the City to clean everything up. Once they finish a street, they will not go back to it.
