Detective Bureau

The Detective Bureau is responsible for investigating follow-up cases that require additional time, resources, and specialized expertise beyond the initial patrol response. • Crimes against persons
  • Property crimes
  • Fraud and financial crimes
  • Narcotics and related offenses
  • Juvenile investigations

Detectives collaborate closely with patrol officers, prosecutors, and other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure thorough and professional investigations.

K-9 Unit

The K-9 Unit is a specialized resource that supports patrol and investigative operations. Our trained police service dogs and handlers assist in a variety of law enforcement functions, including:

  • Tracking and apprehension of suspects
  • Article and evidence searches
  • Narcotics detection
  • Building and area searches
  • Officer safety support during high-risk incidents

The K-9 Unit enhances officer safety and effectiveness while serving as a valuable asset in crime prevention and enforcement efforts.

Crime Scene Processing

Detectives and a civilian evidence technician/custodian are tasked with photographing and processing crime scenes. They work closely with patrol officers in locating and seizing forensic evidence.
